George Allen has officially taken off the gloves, and it’s hard to see how Webb is going to effectively counter the latest salvo from the Allen camp. It seems Mr. Webb, who we all know is an accomplished war novelist, wrote some pretty racy stuff in several of his books. Actually, racy doesn’t begin to describe it. Some of the stuff Webb is wrote in his books is downright sickening, and more than a little bizarre. With the posting rules in force, I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to include here, but suffice it to say that several of Webb’s novels are replete with some pretty graphic sexual imagery, including scenes that can only be described as homoerotic, incestuous, and severely demeaning toward women.

Here are some of the (pretty tame) details I think I can relay on this site:

1) One of Webb’s novels tells of a father molesting his young son.

2) Another novel features a character named Nurse Goodbody.

3) Still another novel describes a man watching a stripper performing an unusual trick (which I’m certain is anatomically impossible) with a banana.

4) Several of his novels feature graphic sex scenes involving minors.

5) Several of his novels also feature rampant use of racial epithets, most frequently the dreaded “N – word.”

It remains to be seen how this will play in socially conservative Virginia, but I strongly suspect this may well do Webb in, and with him, any real hope for the Democrats to retake the Senate. The only real question, to my mind, is if this were already a part of the public record, how did it take so long for this to come up?
